To advance sustainable transformation together, Chiesi has reviewed its governance to ensure we operate in a responsible, sustainable and transparent way towards patients and caregivers, colleagues, partners, communities, and the planet.
We have defined a specific governance framework to ensure effective and efficient processes, to hold people accountable and responsible for goals and achievements, and to regularly monitor, coordinate and facilitate the implementation of global sustainability projects throughout the company.
We are managed by a Board of Directors, which is responsible for the overall management of the Group and for the definition of the Group’s strategic guidelines. The Board of Directors is assisted by the Executive Committee, which is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Group.
Shared value and sustainability
Our Shared Value & Sustainability (SV&S) Department is solely dedicated to defining the Group Sustainability Strategy, measuring and quantifying our impact on society and the environment, developing integrated improvement plans, and communicating transparently about our company-wide environmental and societal performance.
Impact Committee
The Shared Value & Sustainability (SV&S) Department is supported by the Impact Committee, in charge of defining the company’s sustainability strategy and to monitor its implementation.
Its members are accountable for the definition of sustainability objectives in line with Chiesi’s purposes of common benefit expressed in our corporate by-laws, performs materiality analysis, identifies potential risks, assesses the results achieved, and releases our annual Impact Report.
Senior Menagement
Chiesi’s Board of Directors gives long-term direction and endorses the sustainability strategy, demonstrating their support for sustainable practices. Meanwhile, the Group Executive Leadership Team takes on the crucial responsibility of infusing sustainability into long-term business strategies, company decisions and oversight across the entire value chain. They ensure that sustainability is an integral part of Chiesi’s DNA.
Social Activities and Community Development
At corporate level, our Committee for Social and Community Development Activities (CASSC) defines guidelines to be followed in order to promote the development of the local communities in which Chiesi is based.
These activities are carried out both in the municipality of Parma, at the headquarters level and in the local communities where Chiesi’s affiliates operate.
