Research and Development are the engine of our product innovation, allowing the discovery of new medicinal and therapeutic solutions for the benefit of people and the planet.
The research and development team is headquartered at the Research centre in Parma, Italy. It is integrated and works closely with six other major Chiesi research centres in:
The goal of this experienced cross-functional team is to focus on global pipeline development, and to increase productivity to support business growth goals.
Most of Chiesi’s medicinal products are the result of internal research and cooperation between our research centres, amounting to 75% of the turnover. However, Chiesi believes in partnering and collaborating with other pharmaceutical companies to champion the medicinal solutions of tomorrow.
Production Plants
Chiesi currently runs three production plants worldwide, each specialised in different production processes.
A common denominator is that all sites leverage lean management tools and systems to increase efficiency, flexibility, and reduce our climate footprint.
Solving global health issues requires an international presence. Chiesi has 31 affiliates worldwide, including offices, production sites R&D centres.
Our affiliates play a key role in maintaining an active and effective presence across geographies, and in providing us with greater proximity to the people we serve in order to better understand their needs.
Moreover, affiliates support the corporate headquarters by exploring collaborative partnerships and helping to drive sustainable and progressive regulation in the markets we operate in.
In essence, we operate to provide care to people with conditions worldwide. We cooperate across various functions in Chiesi, as well as with our vast network of stakeholders locally, nationally, regionally and across geographies.
